Michael Cully, president of AIR Graphics in Boston, Massachusetts has been named the 2015 recipient of the George K. Bukovsky Award from the International Reprographic Association (IRgA). He is the 17th member of ReproMAX to win this prestigious award. AIR Graphics has been a ReproMAX Partner company for six years.
Rick Bosworth, president of ReproMax said this about Mike Cully, “Speaking for everyone in the ReproMAX Network we congratulate AIR Graphics and our own Mike Cully on being named the 2015 Bukovsky Award recipient. Mike has always been a consummate professional, highly respected within our industry and a natural leader. He is very deserving of this industry acknowledgement. We thank him for his dedication and contributions and look forward to working with him long into the future.”
The Bukovsky Award recognizes individuals who have made significant, long-term contributions to the reprographics industry. It is named in honor of George K. Bukovsky, a professional reprographer who was in the industry for over 30 years. The award was established to honor his contributions by recognizing others who have made a similar impact on reprography.
According to Paul Fridrich, president of IRgA, “I feel proud that one of our Partners received the Bukovsky Award. Mike’s leadership throughout his tenure on the IRgA board of directors was a study in stability, purpose and determination. Very likely, IRgA would not have been around, if Mike and other determined colleagues, did not step up and lead the organization in the most difficult time of reprographics industry transformation.”
Cully has been actively involved in the reprographics industry for over 40 years. He has owned reprographics companies since the 1970s. In 1986, Cully and his brother Kevin along with partner Kevin O’Neill opened Applied Image Reprographics. Today, it is known as AIR Graphics, with three successful locations in the greater Boston area.
His professional association with the reprographics industry includes membership on the board of the Eastern Regional Reprographics Association and as president of that association in 2000. Cully also served on the board of the IRgA and was a past president in 2010.
Cully will be honored at a reception during the Eastern Reprographics Association/International Reprographic Association convention in Atlanta, Georgia on April 9-11.
